The Cancer Support Community is a local non-profit based in Templeton, California. The organization is devoted to supporting the needs of cancer patients and their families completely free of charge for non-medical and psychosocial needs.
The Cancer Support Community will be hosting their annual Tour of Paso Bike Ride on March 25, 2017. This beautiful ride through Paso Robles Wine Country will not only allow you to behold the beautiful back roads and wildflowers in Paso Robles, but all proceeds will be allocated towards a worthy cause.
Evidence that strong social and emotion support helps improve the chances of a cancer patient’s remission, is precisely what motivated the Cancer Support Community to persevere with their work. Regardless of the patient’s stage of cancer or prospect of recovery, the non-profit offers their services free of charge. The Cancer Support Community uses a “Patient Active Model,” which empowers the patient and family to participate in their treatment decisions and increases their quality of life. When you register for this event, you can elect to sign up for the twenty-six-mile ride or the fifty-mile ride, depending on your skill level. Early bird registration costs $65 and you are able to create your own team or join an existing team for the event. Once established, each team will set an individualized fundraising goal, with the minimum amount being $200. If you do not wish to partake in the bike ride, but would like to contribute to the Cancer Support Community, you can directly donate to one of the participating teams to help them achieve their fundraising goal. Participants are also encouraged to purchase the 2017 custom Voler Jersey to commemorate the event.
