Billabong is stoked to present its annual Still Frothy surf competition for the youth of seventeen years old and younger on Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, September 25th. Still Frothy hopes to excite and motivate kids off the motherboards of their computers and onto their surfboards outside. The cost to enter the competition is absolutely free. All participants will receive a free contest tee shirt, snacks, drinks, and lunch.
The competition will keep everyone entertained with fun games and surf trivia questions that of course offer the opportunity to bring home free goodies.
Finalists in the kids’ division will receive some awesome prizes from the contest’s sponsors. There will also be some last minute awards and prizes presented to participants’ with a high community involvement as well as honors given out to applaud others’ surf skills. Last but certainly not least, each year, the “all-around good kid(s)” wins a Channel Islands surfboard that has been ridden by one of their top name professionals.
Still Frothy has gradually adapted its infamous, thrilling, and spectator-friendly division called Tow At Air Challenge, featuring some of the best surfers in California & the entire U.S. A “Tow At Air” is when a surfer is pulled at high speeds via personal watercraft directly at the waves. Once on the wave, the surfer gains more speed than possible naturally and has the potential to perform out-of-this-world stunts. The Tow At Air Division will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The contest will have $2,500 minimum purse and prizes. The winning team takes home $1,000 each from Banzai Bowls and Cool Cats Cafe.
Before the weekend competition begins, come down to Hoagies in downtown Pismo to enjoy a free concert on Friday, September 23rd at 6 p.m. Timmy Curran will be the artist performing to pump up the energy for the weekend festivities.Allegretto Vineyard Resort is about an hour drive from Pismo Beach.
