At Festival Mozaic's WinterMezzo chamber music series, internationally-renowned artists present educational events, culinary experiences, and intimate concerts in spectacular venues on the California Central Coast. This season, Music Director Scott Yoo presents two weekends of great works of chamber music and offers three sequential ways to connect to the music and the musicians. You will not regret attending all three events as this will allow you to experience the special intimacy that comes from Festival Mozaic.
At the WinterMezzo event, artists will take you on a one-hour tour behind the music of Noam Elkies and Gabriel Fauré. They will give you insights into the composers’ lives, teach you what musical elements to listen for, and share their perspectives on the works with artistry and humor.
Some of the pieces and composers that will be featured at WinterMezzo include:
l Jean Émile Paul Cras - Suite en Duo
l Noam Elkies - E Sonata for Flute and keyboard in E minor, op. 40
l Albert Roussel - Serenade, op. 30
l Gabriel Faure - Piano Quartet No. 2 in G minor, op. 45
You can also enhance your WinterMezzo experience by joining the artists in a deliciously prepared dinner. Award-winning Central Coast wines from Tablas Creek Vineyard are paired with local, fresh cuisine by Field to Table catering in the breathtaking venue of the Park Ballroom in downtown Paso Robles. You can indulge in a delicious meal as the artists discuss and perform music by Jean Cras and Albert Roussel.
Festival Mozaic's WinterMezzo promises to be the perfect weekend getaway in San Luis Obispo.
