The second annual Paso Pops concert and fireworks show will be returning on Saturday, July 1st. Paso Pops is a Paderewski Festival-sponsored, patriotic-themed concert and Independence Day celebration in the Paso Robles Horse Park. With an abundance of wine, beer, food, activities, live music, and fireworks, you will want to ensure you are in attendance.
Another highly anticipated event is the Military Honor Guard presentation, “Star-Spangled Banner” sung by Alodie Ayers. Paderewski Festival Youth Piano Competition Winners Jack Raventos and Sarah Girges will also perform solos of Rachmaninoff’s “Prelude in g, Op 23 No. 5” and “Chopin/Liszt’s “The Maiden’s Wish.” There will also be a Paso Pops performance by the Swing Dolls of Los Angeles that will include performances of “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree,” “Hold Tight,” “Salute to the Armed Forces,” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” New to the Paso Pops 2017 event is an after party featuring music by Rocky Montijo and the Mojitos immediately following Paso Pops.
Paso Pops will open its gates at 4:00pm. From 5:00-7:30pm, guests can enjoy a walk-around wine tasting that will feature 40 local wineries. For families with younger children, there will be The San Luis Obispo Musical Petting Zoo as well as interactive arts activities to enjoy, making this the perfect event for visitors of all ages!
If you wish to enjoy a meal at Paso Pops, you are welcome to pack your own picnic. Alternatively, you can pre-order meals from Allegretto’s outstanding restaurant, or enjoy a variety of the caterers and food trucks that will be at the event.
